This was the first project for Compass when the office was opened in 1989.

It started with five people who had an innovative idea.  They worked out of a garage and the kitchen table was the shipping and receiving department.  Where the competitor's products were 220v, water cooled and the size of a washing machine - the OcuLight SL needs only 110v, is air cooled and came with a handy shoulder pack to transport it from office to office. 

It was an immediate success and IRIDEX is now the worldwide leader in diode ophthalmic lasers.  IRIDEX was also our first client. Good product design is a great beginning.
