Build it, try it

This is where the mechancial engineer starts to piece together the foundation for the product design. Parts are put together with tape, hot glue and clamps to quickly try a variety of configurations for the design. The photo above is of a light source for laboratory equipment and the engineer is looking at the placement of the fan to cool the light source.
